A Message to Evangelicals
Mr. Evangelical himself (John Wesley) in his
spiritual journey in that lifetime was amenable to
exploring other spiritual modalities -- you might say
his own version of Pilgrim's Progress. He was quite
open to the Spirit's leading in his day.
He wrote to Emanuel Swedenborg to say that he was coming to London on a certain day and asked if he might call on him. Swedenborg wrote back to say that he regretted than he would be unable to meet with him as he had a previous appointment with his Maker on that day. He did indeed die on that day.
If Evangelicals have the good sense -- as the people at Christian Week seem to have -- to be open to new light, i.e. what Spirit is saying in this day and age, they can only be blessed and benefit thereby. As inheritors of the noble tradition of spiritual regeneration, this new light on the theme of spiritual regeneration takes this aspect to a new level. This is not for everyone (and that's alright) -- we are all at different levels of spiritual growth and understanding -- but many are ready for such a new impetus to a higher spiritual reality and consciousness.
